The Shame of a For-Profit Business

The company that I do tech support for charges money for phone support after a period of complimentary support. Now, this makes sense to me, as they need to have money to pay myself and the other support reps. But, apparently we are an evil monopoly (No, I don't work for that company).

At least that's what I was told this morning by a customer who did not want to pay for support. That, and I should be ashamed to work for such a company.

Hmmm... nope, I'm not the least bit ashamed. Like many other companies, this one is in business to make money. They also need to pay my salary. This takes money. Charging for phone support seems like a perfectly logical way to get that money.

Now that I read over this post, the story doesn't seem as amusing as it was this morning. I guess you had to be there. :-)
