I've grown quite exasperated with people calling about their silly little problems with iMovie. Without fail, it will be some jackass who has created a project in iMovie, exported it to iDVD, and is not pleased with the results.
It's just unbelievable. People will import video from devices that are not on the iMovie compatibility list, and then have the nerve to wonder why their project doesn't turn out the way they expect.
Sometimes it's just ignorance; they didn't know about the list or didn't bother to check and see if their device is on it. But every once in a while, I'll get a call from someone who knows that their camera is not on The List. And why do they call, you ask? Because they created a little project with footage imported from their incompatible device, and now they want to know why the finished result is not a professional quality movie.
There are two reasons for this: First of all, iMovie is not a professional grade tool, it's a free program for heaven's sake. Secondly, because the video footage came from an incompatible DV camera. This makes perfect sense to me. I don't know why more of Apple's customers can't understand it.
