Bubba Ho-tep

We saw Bubba Ho-tep last night at The Charles Theater. It's directed by Don Coscarelli, of Phantasm fame, and stars Bruce Campbell as Elvis.

The movie was hilarious. It has to be one of the most unusal stories I've ever encountered. Without going into too much detail, the movie is about Elvis and a black man who believes he is JFK fighting a soul-sucking mummy. Yep. I highly recommend seeing it.

Anger Rising

I just finished the most irritating call that I've had in months. This man could not connect to his DSL account through his AirPort base station. Nothing was working. The call lasted over an hour. I slammed my fist on the desk several times. I felt somewhat guilty for being so pissed off, because the guy was pretty nice during the whole thing, but dear lord, what a frustrating experience. After it was over I wanted to bang my head against a wall. Instead of doing that, however, I just took a short pee break and took another call. Life is wonderful.

Rush In Rio, The Adventure Continues

Well I did acquire the Rush In Rio DVD and CD sets last night, and I did wind up getting them at Best Buy. But it wasn't quite that simple. I found out that I could get them at Circuit City for the same price, and I could also get the new Pink Floyd Live At Pompei Director's Cut DVD there for $12.99. So I was off to Circuit City after work, found the Floyd DVD after a bit of hunting, but of course, the Rush discs were nowhere to be found. I even asked one of their employees, and he was unable to find them. You would think that on the first day these items were released, they would fucking have them in stock, especially since they were advertised as being on sale. The sales person told me that if I hang onto the ad, I could bring it back when they have the discs in stock and get them for the sale price. Yeah, right. I'm going to wait until they have the damn things in stock and come back... sure. Well, I did wind up getting the Floyd DVD at CC, but I drove right down the street to Best Buy and picked up the Rush discs.

I've listened to all 3 CDs, and it's a great show. Haven't watched the DVD yet; hopefully we'll get to it tonight.

Rush In Rio

Today the Rush In Rio DVD and CD sets are being released. I could get them both for $35 at Best Buy, but I'm probably going to call Record & Tape Traders when I go to lunch and find out how much they're selling Rush In Rio for, and if they will price match. I'd rather support a small local chain like Record & Tape Traders than Best Buy, but since I'm poor, I'll probably get them at BB if it will save me $10 or more.

Pretend Girlfriend, Part II

Here are a couple more recent pictures (as recent as last week, I believe). These were taken at work, where all the fun happens.

  1. Looking very enthusiastic to be at work

  2. "I love my job!"

Comedy Central Live at the Meyerhof

We went to the Meyerhof last night to see Dave Attell and Lewis Black perform. Mitch Hedberg was also turned out to be on the bill, which was a pleasant surprise. It was a great show, all the performers were hilarious, especially Dave Attell.
