What I'm Listening To

Right now a track from Neil Young's Greendale is playing in iTunes. Ok, now John Lennon's cover of Stand By Me is playing. Good times.

I got the idea for this post from the Live Journal thingy where people tell us what they are curently listening to at the begining of their entry.

At the moment I'm very impressed by Melissa Auf der Maur's new disc. Far superior anything I've heard from Hole (she was their bassist).

Also been listening to Velvet Revolver, the remains of Guns N' Roses plus Scott Weiland.

Other odds and ends that have been floating through my CD player and/or iTunes: Opeth, My Bloody Valentine, Iron Maiden, Gary Numan, Genesis. At the moment "Send Me An Angel" by Real Life is playing.

Last week we saw Skinny Puppy and Tweaker at the Electric Factory in Philadelphia, PA. I've know of Skinny Puppy's existence for quite some time, but had never really listened to them. Tweaker is the creation of former Nine Inch Nails drummer Chris Vrenna. Both bands impressed me. Overall the show was great, though it seemed to drag towards the end when our feet started getting sore from standing for so long. While SP is very much in the heavy industrial vein of Ministry, I'm not sure how to categorize Tweaker.

Is anyone else looking forward to seeing Rush at The Nissan Paviliion in August? I know I am.
