A co-worker introduced me to a band called Metric today. According to Wikipedia, they are a New Wave/Indie rock band. At the moment I'm listening to their 2003 release "Old World Underground, Where Are You now?" The most striking thing about Metric's music is vocalist/keyboardist Emily Haines' synthesizer lines. These are fat, analog-sounding synth lines that evoke Signals-era Rush; not something that's very common among today's alternative/indy/whatever bands.
Some high points on this disc are "Hustle Rose," Combat Baby," and "Calculation Theme."
