Tag lines

Right now I have two possible tag lines for the site:

  1. "Roadkill on the Information Super Highway"
  2. "Get robbed and ruffed up"

Any preference between the two? Questions? Comments? Concerns?

Starting Over

Please bear with me. Just upgraded to MovableType 4.21 and decided to start over with the default template set. I think it's time to admit to myself that I am a programmer, not a designer. My strengths lie much more in the arena of backend business logic than in making pretty interfaces.

Still got some re-organizing to do. The old content should be back shortly. On the other hand, I'm toying with the idea of scrapping my old posts and starting from scratch. Considering that approximately 1.3 people read this site, it probably does not matter much either way.

More to come...

CSS Tinkering

So I've been fiddling around with the look of my site recently, and I've got a design that I'm fairly happy with now. However, there is one thing I'm stuck on at the moment.

I want to have a page footer with some copyright info, etc. at the bottom of the page, but I can't seem to get it positioned properly. It seems to wind up floating somewhere in the middle of the page or near the top. My guess is that this has something to do with the absolute positioning of the content and sidebar div's that precede the footer in the document flow, but I'm not sure.

Guess it's time to peruse the InterWeb some more in search of an answer.

Redsign (again)

I decided to just remove the style sheet and start from scratch with my own. Yeah it looks like crap now. Get over it.

Finally finished de-gunking my blog of comment and trackback spam.

I've implemented some of the suggestions found in the Six Apart Guide to Combatting Comment Spam, including using MT Blacklist to block incoming spam, and using Dave's MT-Close plugin to close comments and track backs on my old entries.

Also, I'm now only accepting comments from registered TypeKey users. It's free, and you only have to register once to be able to post comments on any site that uses TypeKey authentication.
